Arendt over terreur

"In isolation, man remains in contact with the world as the human artifice; only when the most elementary form of huamn creativity, which is the capacity to add something of one's own to the common world, is destroyed, isolation becomes altogether unbearable. This can happen in a word whose chief values are dictated by labor, that is where all human activities have been transformed into laboring. "

COMMENTAAR:


 Volgens Arendt maken maatschappelijke atomisatie en isolatie het ontstaan van totalitarisme mogelijk. Deze isolatie treedt op in een maatschappij waar arbeid (in Arendts betekenis) de allesoverheersende waarde is geworden.

Wat betekent dat voor onze maatschappij waar "jobs, jobs en nog eens jobs" een geliefkoosde slogan is? (zogezegd jobs in een "creatieve sector", maar ze lijken vaker op "arbeid" in Arends betekenis)
